The Yamaha YZF-R125 uses an all-new liquid-cooled 124cc, four-valve, short-stroke single cylinder engine, which is claimed to be the most powerful 125cc four-stroke motorcycle available. (NYSE:PII), today launched its new Victory Vision™ family of luxury touring motorcycles at the International Motorcycle Show in New York City. The new bikes, the Victory Vision Street™ and Victory Vision Tour,™ boast Victory’s own thunderous V-Twin engine, unmatched comfort and breakthrough styling - redefining what it means to be an American touring bike.

“We spent nearly six years researching and developing this bike, and more than 28,000 miles riding with customers and are confident that the Victory Vision will fulfill the dreams of people looking to tour on an American Luxury touring bike,” said Mark Blackwell, vice president of Victory Motorcycles and International Operations. “The Victory Vision is perhaps the most pure example of what riders have been asking for: a modern, American V-Twin touring bike.”

A powerful combination of style and comfort, the Victory Vision bikes have four inches of cushion in their seats, a relaxed, feet-forward riding position, the best aerodynamic wind protection and airflow management for all weather riding, ample storage space with modern American styling. The new bikes will be available to riders across the country beginning in fall 2007.

“This is a proud day for Polaris and Victory Motorcycles as we launch a family of motorcycles that 30 years from now people will look back and say, ‘Those bikes fundamentally changed the design of American motorcycles,” said Tom Tiller, CEO, Polaris Industries. “We launched Victory Motorcycles in 1998 with the belief that an American company could design and build the best motorcycles in the world – while not the biggest, we are confident based on feedback from our buyers Victory is the best.”

The Victory Vision comes in two flavors, Tour, with 6750 cubic inches of storage space and Street with 3370 cubic inches of capacity. Seat height is a low 26.5 inches and the seating position is relaxed with a lot of room to move around thanks to integrated floorboards.

Interesting is the lack of specifics on engine displacement, with some time left before it shows up on the showroom floor, it may be a decision that is not yet final.

Harley-Davidson XL1200N Nightster

Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycles get a burst of adrenalin with the launch of the new XL 1200N Nightster. As he hung on to the fairing he watched Jones steer the Buell Firebolt and had a compelling reason to hang on tight as he travelled at 160km/h with the Donington track very close to his backside.

Jones said afterwards: "We have worked and performed together for several years and you need total faith in each other. This record was our way of pushing the Buell Firebolt and our own capabilities further than ever before."

In 2003, Jones set the world’s longest solo stoppie record of 225m on a Buell and in 2004 beat his own record by reaching 266m.

The Official MotoGP calendar for 2007 season.

For this new season, San Marino (small state in Italy) Grand Prix was add to the calendar. The 1098 is the first production motorcycle to have the amazing stopping power of Brembo Monobloc brakes, the first to have a data acquisition system integrated as standard equipment and the first to use an ingenious construction method for its weight-saving single-sided swingarm. More ‘firsts’ for a road-going Ducati include the direct application of MotoGP technology, like the power producing GP6-derived elliptical throttle bodies and the use of the information-rich instrumentation originally developed for the new Desmosedici GP7.

Ducati 1098 Superbike The 1098 has the soul of a race bike, pure and simple. The riding position encourages the rider to mould to the sleek lines of the tank and seat: man and machine are made one. It transmits the quality and character of contact between road surface and tyre, it signals the way the chassis will react next and responds instinctively to rider commands.

Satisfying all the senses, the throaty roar of the twin under-seat exhausts are synchronized with the howl of the elliptical throttle bodies providing a fitting fanfare for the new 1098 Testastretta Evoluzione engine. The huge 104mm bore and all-new cylinder head design unite to produce an awesome 160hp and an arm-wrenching 90+ lb-fts of torque. Developed together with Ducati Corse, the 1098 is a masterpiece of incredible performance and innovation.

Price:$14,995 USD

And for this
The 1098 S Tri-Colore...

Price:$24,995 USD

2007 MV Agusta F4 C.C. This is how Claudio Castiglioni, the Managing Director referred to the new F4 that now carries his initials “CC”. The boss of MV did what any of us might well have done and gave in to his inner instincts, gave in to the temptation to create a motorbike, not just to meet strategic market needs, but to create something really special, something truly magnificent - just for the sake of it. To create the F4CC project, he obviously utilised everything at his disposal; exclusive materials and the latest technology to attain the utmost in performance.

The figures for the new MV speak for themselves: 315 kph (195 mph) top speed (auto-limited by tyre specification). Unique in its genre, sculptured by his friend Massimo Tamburini, made with luxurious design and high components hidden in the MV closet, right in that corner where the embryo start to develop: the MV AGUSTA racing department.

A specially boxed certificate of origin will make the delivery of each machine something very special - more a ceremony. Each machine will have a platinum plate at the top of the steering column bearing the model number from 1 – 100. The F4CC titanium exhausts and engine management unit together have the task of taming the power of the 1078 cc engine yet making it “sing” even sweeter when unleashing all of its 200 CV. The F4CC doesn’t just want to entice with its looks - it wants to out-perform everything else. It wants to leave everyone stunned – for once and for all.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://torqueoftown.blogspot.com/2006/11/2007-mv-agusta-f4-cc-claudio.html' title='2007 MV Agusta F4 C.C. All these qualities have long been recognized in the both the 750 and 910 Brutale. Now imagine these properties dramatically enhanced by improved performance, stronger braking and the dynamic handling characteristics of a full race machine. This is the 910R — a motorcycle for everyday use that is capable of rewarding its rider with the behavior and riding sensation that is more in line with full race machines. The MV Agusta Brutale 910R keeps the same elegant lines of the S version, but includes several modifications that make it even more dynamic and aggressive.

THE EQUIPMENT:

The Brutale 910R is fitted with state-of-the-art technical systems worthy of a competition machine. This is clearly seen in the braking and suspension systems that differ from the 910S as follows:

Brembo Monoblock P4/34 radial brake calipers.

Aluminum 320mm Brembo discs

Radial caliper strut

Marzocchi USD 50 mm R.A.C. forks (Road Advanced Component.)

Brembo forged Aluminum wheels with Y spokes.

Racing exhaust with specialized Eprom

New hand-polished inlet ducts

PERFORMANCE:
The addition of polished intakes helps increase engine performance from the Brutale 910S, and when optional racing exhaust is installed, the Brutale 910R pumps out 144hp.

Nicky Hayden out for Jerez tests

After Marco Melandri and Dani Pedrosa, now its the turn of Nicky Hayden to be under surgery. The American rider who broke his right collarbone in 2004 in supermoto tests, will be surgered to change the steel plate who maintain his bone.

That is the result of his crash with Pedrosa in Estoril grand prix (portugal). He finishes the championship, without a word about this but now it is urgent that his injury be fixed. Next Tests in Jerez will be carried out by Dani Pedrosa for Repsol Honda team. Aimed at producing a bike with the heart and feel of a supermoto, but somewhat more streetable than a pure 450/510 competition machine, the STR 650 shows an interesting mix of styling influence - elements of both sportbike and supermoto racer are visible.
